533 Barnsdale meets 4222 Tujunga, 2001
Enamel, aluminum on wood
38 x 28 in.
This is the from the Bumpies series, which is my minimalist approach to showing layers of 'dermis' our psychology exhibits. Beneath the top veneer are unbeknownst shadow layers, which will poke, protrude and mysteriously make their presence known.
This top paint is covered with metallic glitter auto enamel. The painting will appear to sparkle and move like a riverbed based on the viewing position. Additional compositional elements act as boulders blocking that 'river'. Further making the shadowplay underneath elusive.
